elements can eliminate mists and particulates from your air/gas
pipelines. We offer several media options that are up to 98%
efficient down to 0.1 Microns. We also offer media and core options
that are compatible in environments with more aggressive chemistry.
#907 Coalescing Filter Media.
Sparks #907 media is composed in part of microfine borosilicate
glass fibers laid down in a thin felt bonded with phenolic resin.
Together with a textile prefilter layer and a final drain layer,
these pleated filter elements are remarkably effective at coalescing
fine entrained oil and aqueous vapor mist from air/gas flows without
the high pressure drop loss typical of other designs. They remove
small solid and liquid mist contamination from gaseous streams by
impaction. In the first stage, 10µ and larger particles are stripped
away. Then, oil and mist particles cannot navigate through the
myriad of fine glass fibers. Owing to their greater than air mass,
inertia takes its toll, and each droplet ultimately impacts a fiber
strand. Surface tensions prevail and the droplets aglomerate,
wicking to the sump area for removal. A final foam drain layer helps
ensure that no droplets reatomize. Experience has demonstrated high
removal (90+ %) in dealing with 1.0 to 0.3µ aerosols. Individual
performance will vary with the specific viscosity and vapor pressure
of liquid contaminates.
NEW #926, & #927 Media
with extended area configurations can take out the mist, and not
hold up the flow. See their applications in filter housing series
